
Hades,
God of the underworld, was the brother of
Zeus and
Poseidon.
He was the King of the Dead -- but not Death Himself. He rarely left his
dark realm, and most would not have welcomed him. He was unrelenting and
inflexible, but he was a Just God. The Greek underworld was not the equivalent
of the Christian Hell, but rather a shadowy realm where ghosts wandered in a
dream.
