This
mask is taken from a Roman statue (see below) that dates between
the 1st century B.C. and the 1st century A.D., and was most likely
associated with the "New Comedy" plays. The length of his
beard and his wrinkles probably means his is an "Old Man".
His beard could be painted gray or white. In this version we have
opted for a wild red beard, and his
mate
has a matching hairdo.
He is made in neoprene, a
semi-rigid, non-toxic latex. The neoprene masks have a little more
"give" to them than papier mâché, and are a little more
durable.
