Some of these masks are new creations based on the style of the
Greeks, however, many of these masks are reproductions of sculptures found in
the course of research. We have included pictures of the original source
where possible. We have created replicas of historical masks with the
interest of teaching actors what is was like to perform in masks in the past.
These are not the full helmet-like masks the Greeks would have used, however,
hats and hair can be attached by the performer. They are created in papier
mâché and neoprene, with the focus being what these sculptures would have
required from the performer. If you have a certain picture
of a mask from the past you would like to see brought to life, we would
be happy to discuss that with you. |
