This
comic male was designed for a Los Angeles production of Plautus' The Rope.
He was designed to be a lower class fisherman
and
the occasional thug. His design was taken from a vase painting (right)
dated 380-370BCE. This particular mask was painted in African skin
tones at the request of the director, and is an example of how
Arlecchina's Masks can accommodate the needs of a given production.
He is made in neoprene, a semi rigid non-toxic latex.
